Writing Systems of the World

The world has many languages, and since 3200 BC in Iraq, humans have recorded their words onto stone and other materials.
This website covers some writing systems I find interesting, and the languages they are used for. Below is a list of the writing systems, ordered by how many people speak the corresponding language. Try clicking the blue countries on the map below!

Latin

English has 1.35 billion speakers.

Spanish

Spanish has 600 million speakers.

Arabic

Arabic has 380 million speakers.

Urdu

Urdu has 170 million speakers.

Persian

Persian has about 110 million speakers.

Amharic

Amharic has between 35 and 55 million speakers.

Greek

Greek has around 13 million speakers.

Hebrew

Hebrew has around 9 million speakers.
